Information on prescriptions after a private consultation

Private specialist requesting further investigations and/or monitoring

In the majority of cases, these would be expected to be organized by the private specialist. This also ensures that the private clinician has access to results and can oversee the diagnostic process.

If the GP does agree to arranging further investigations requested by the private specialist, they would need to be in line with NHS protocols and test requests accessible to the GP.

Test requests will be declined if not deemed clinically appropriate.
